Kaymanta, which in Kichwa language means “from here”, is a panoramic floating dock built with and for an indigenous community located on the shore of San Pablo’s Lake in Otavalo, Ecuador. The project is the outcome of a long process of conversations, talleres (workshops) and mingas (voluntary cooperative labour) with the community, that recognized its knowledge and capacities as key resources for its success.
